Service Standards

Service standards are statements of service. The standards for each service set out the level of service that a customer should expect from that service. For some of the measures are measurable and where there are measurable standards, performance is monitored on a quarterly basis.

The council has service standards for the following services:

  • Benefits
  • Building Control
  • Careline
  • Clean Surrounds
  • Community Services
  • Council Meetings
  • Customer Services
  • Environmental Health
  • Finance
  • Land Charges
  • Personnel
  • Planning
  • Revenues

Corporate Health standards

The council also monitor a number of standards that do not necessarily fall within one particular service under a general heading of Corporate Health standards.

There are further standards planned for

  • Strategic Housing
  • Economic Development
  • Local Development Framework
  • Affordable Housing
  • CCTV

These are expected to be added to the overall suite of standards in the autumn 2012.

Performance Monitoring

All measurable standards are monitored on a quarterly basis and reported to the Executive committee of the council. For details of the performance of the services against the standards please see Sedgemoor District Council's Performance.
