  • Bridgwater Tidal Barrier Project Feedback

    Please give us your feedback on the Bridgwater Tidal Barrier project. We will consider all responses received by October 31st 2016.

  • Emerging Local Plan Consultation

    Sedgemoor District Council is continuing work on the Local Plan 2011-2032 that will help shape the future of our District. When adopted, this new Local Plan will replace the current Development Plan for the District, called the Core Strategy 2006-2027.

  • Sustainability Appraisal

    Sustainability Appraisal (SA) is a systematic process, aimed at appraising the social, environmental and economic effects of plans, strategies and policies and ensuring that they accord with the objectives of sustainable development. SA is required by the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 and incorporates Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) as required by the SEA Directive.

  • Assessing Rural Housing Need in villages

    A Housing Needs Survey will highlight local demand for both affordable housing and other forms of housing. Affordable housing is for local people who are unable to rent or buy accommodation on the open market.

  • Bridgwater Northern Gateway: Development Brief and Design Principles

    Sedgemoor District Council is currently in the early stages of preparing a Development Brief and Design Principles document for land to the north of Bridgwater.

  • Sedgemoor Crime and Anti-social Behaviour Survey 2017

    Sedgemoor District Council is committed to making Sedgemoor a safe place in which to live, work and visit. In order to understand the issues that matter most to you, we want to hear your views on crime and anti-social behaviour, so that we can work together with local partners to address these problems.
